HYROX is one of the fastest growing fitness competitions in the world. Combining running and functional fitness, it challenges athletes through a structured race format designed to test strength, endurance, power and mental resilience.

Each HYROX race consists of 8 x 1km runs, each followed by a functional workout station such as sled pushes, sled pulls, rowing, farmers carries and wall balls.

At Fifth Gym, we have built a dedicated HYROX training studio to help members train specifically for the sport — whether you're preparing for competition or simply want a world-class training method that delivers real results.

Our HYROX programme consists of 13 structured classes per week, designed to develop every component required to perform at your best.

Our HYROX Class Structure

13 Classes Per Week

Our HYROX programming is divided into four specialised class types, ensuring every element of performance is developed.

HYROX FOUNDATIONAL

The HYROX Foundational class uses an interval-based format that allows athletes of all abilities to train together within the same session.

This class focuses on building the essential elements of fitness required for HYROX performance.

Training includes:

• Strength and power development
• Muscular endurance
• Aerobic capacity
• Lactic threshold conditioning
• Functional skills and movement efficiency
• Agility and coordination

The aim of this class is to create a balanced, well-rounded training foundation, ensuring every participant develops the core physical abilities needed to progress safely and effectively.

HYROX Foundational training ensures athletes build strong fundamentals that support both performance and long-term fitness.

HYROX ENGINE

HYROX Engine classes focus on developing endurance and work capacity, helping athletes improve their ability to sustain high levels of performance over longer periods.

These sessions specifically target:

• Aerobic capacity
• Lactate threshold
• Muscular stamina
• Speed development
• Running efficiency
• Machine performance

Athletes will experience longer work intervals, increased machine distances and higher repetition blocks, pushing both cardiovascular fitness and muscular endurance.

Training may also include:

• Functional Threshold Power (FTP) work
• Compromised running drills
• Aerobic endurance intervals
• Speed development work

The result is improved running ability, faster machine output and greater race-day stamina.

HYROX POWER

HYROX Power sessions focus on building maximum strength and power output.

Unlike the more endurance-focused classes, Power training centres around traditional strength development and structured strength-based conditioning.

Workouts may include formats such as:

• AMRAPS (As Many Reps As Possible)
• Strength intervals
• TOTMS (Top of the Minute Sets)
• Partner workouts
• “I Go, You Go” formats
• High volume strength blocks

These sessions are designed to increase absolute strength, muscular power and force production, giving athletes a major advantage when tackling heavy race stations such as sled pushes and farmers carries.

HYROX Complete sessions bring everything together.

These are full race-style workouts designed to replicate the true demands of HYROX competition.
